Rabbit – Lionhead
You might want to call me the bunny that roared. I’m proud to be the newest breed of domestic rabbit. The characteristic fluffy mane that inspired my name may be single or double, the latter cascading down to a skirt at my rear. I’m a small pet, with a body and ears that are only 2 to 3 inches, and I weigh between 2 and 4 pounds.
I’m a gentle, friendly pet who enjoys social interaction; however, being alone won’t upset me. Socialization as a young rabbit will prevent me from being skittish. I’m generally fine with children, but please note that I can become aggressive when feeling sick or insecure. I’m very bright and can even learn simple commands.
My coat comes in a variety of colors and patterns, and the dense mane does require brushing several times a week to avoid tangles and mats. With proper care, including vaccines, I’ll be the king of your backyard jungle for 7 to 10 years.
